I am a high school English teacher in Milwaukee, WI. I teach 9th grade World Literature and 10th grade Writing.
I love talking about cooking. Sometimes I get a bit obsessive about it. My friend Eric is one of the few people who can tolerate my foodie conversations since he is also obsessed with baking and cooking. My wife loves to experience my cooking adventures, but she gets tired of hearing about the differences between DAY and DIY, soakers and mash, and formulas. So, this blog will be my outlet.

What a great blog! I love it. Since I seem to have a lot of time on my hands, I have been cooking quite a bit too -mostly soups and such. And I got a Bitchin’ Food Processor for the Holidays so while I am a novice, I am very excited about the culinary arts.
Thanks M for checking out the site. Food Processors are great aren’t they. We got a stick blender for christmas and we have been eating soup every day because of it. Last night we had acorn squash and curry soup. Oh. It was good.
Hey! I found your blog from The Fresh Loaf site. It’s so cool to see another Milwaukeean vegi cook and baker making neat food. I don’t know if you ever pick up the Outpost Exchange, but I sometimes write a column for them… in Feb. it’ll be about bread.
Anyway, Peace and Happy Baking!
-Milo
I am a member at Outpost and I do read the Exchange. I’ll look for your column. I am making baguettes tonight to complement spinach and ricotta ravioli (I even made the ricotta) and tomorrow I am starting a rye sourdough. My mother starter is going crazy because I fed it new food a couple hours ago. If you ever have recipes that you would like me to try I am always willing. I wanted to focus on bread for the start of my blog but I will eventually branch out into other vegetarian dishes. Thanks for checking me out.
Hey – I came to your site looking for your chai recipe – you may recall we chatted about that awhile ago when Eric and I were in Milwaukee for a visit.
Anyway, I’ve had some successes in the chai-making arena, however, I have also had some so-so outcomes. If you have a successful strategy, you should post it – or email it to me:)
